Undergraduate Thesis
My undergraduate thesis is being developed from an in-depth study of the cooling system of our Formula SAE team’s prototype, with the aim of proposing a new SidePod design that improves cooling performance, reduces drag, and enhances rear-wing downforce by redirecting the flow more efficiently. The project has already begun with a series of CFD simulations — both aerodynamic and thermal — to analyse the current flow behaviour in the radiator region and identify concrete opportunities for improvement. In addition, the plan includes wind-tunnel testing using the radiator to increase the accuracy of the models and validate the numerical results, allowing a direct comparison between simulations and experimental behaviour.
